The Importance of Clinical Research

Participating in asthma clinical research studies is essential for improving treatment options and advancing our understanding of this chronic respiratory condition. Asthma affects millions of people worldwide, and while current treatments help manage symptoms, there is still a need for more effective and personalized therapies. Clinical trials allow researchers to evaluate new medications, inhalers, and other interventions that may offer better symptom control, fewer side effects, and improved quality of life for asthma patients.

Common AIRSUPRA™ Questions from Patients

  • What is AIRSUPRA™?
    • AIRSUPRA™ is an as needed rescue inhaler used to treat or prevent symptoms of asthma (tightening of the airways, wheezing, cough, and shortness of breath).
  • How is this inhaler different from my current rescue inhaler?
    • Answer: AIRSUPRA™ combines 2 medicines, albuterol (which typically is what is in your rescue inhaler) and budesonide (a type of steroid) into 1 inhaler. The albuterol works to smooth the muscles in your airways, which causes them to widen and makes it easier to breathe. The budesonide helps to decrease inflammation in the lungs.
  • What are some of the common side effects of this inhaler?
    • Some of the most common side effects may include a headache, cough, and hoarseness. There are some more side effects that might not be as common listed in the consent form or in the patient information insert.
  • Do I get paid for being in this study?
    • You will not receive any form of payment for this study, you will receive AIRSUPRA™ at no cost to you for a year.
